A Short History of Windows Personal Web Servers

1994 - Bob Denny makes the first NCSA-based
web server for Windows:
1995 - Vermeer makes the FrontPage 1.0
Personal Web Server:
1995 - Vermeer also licenses FrontPage to FTP
software, which re-brands the Personal Web Server:
1996 - Microsoft releases the FrontPage 1.1
Personal Web Server:
1997 - Microsoft releases the FrontPage 97
Personal Web Server:
1998 - Microsoft releases the FrontPage 98
Personal Web Server:
2000 - Microsoft releases FrontPage 2000 and
ceases making a FrontPage Personal Web Server.
